- 2-2.5oz if a higher quality bourbon or rye whiskey (Overholt or better for Rye, Old Forrester 1946 or better for bourbon)
- .75-1.25oz of sweet vermouth (Doulin should be the standard)
- 2 dashes of angustura betters
- A strip of orange peel and marischino cherry.
- Add the ingredients into a mixing glass, and stir with a rock of ice, and a few small cubes for approximately 15 seconds.
- Pour into a coup glass, and garnish with the orange peel and a marischino cherry.
Tips:
- The quality of this drink is directly proportionate to the ingredients that go into it.
- Cheap whiskey and/or vermouth = cheap drink
- Offer this during the cocktail hour in which everyone is getting comfortably buzzed, or between the main course and desert.
