Ingredients

  • 1oz Buffalo Trace Bourbon
  • 1oz Aperol
  • 1oz Amaretto
  • 1oz Lemon Juice

Method

  1. Ad your ingredients in the reverse of the listed order to a mixing tin
  2. Add a rock or four smaller ice cubes to the tin
  3. Stir for 20-30 seconds and strain into a chilled coupe glass, serving immediately

Notes

  • A good rule of thumb to have when you’re making cocktails is to measure and add the ingredients in the order of “cheapest” to “most expensive”. 
  • Speaking as the drink’s creator, though a $6 bottle of Amaretto would likely be too sweet for this drink, don’t waste Disoronno on this. The asking price for the one this is made with is less than $15. 99% of people are not going to taste the difference between the two. And the 1% that could, would tell you the same thing I am. 
  • This is arguably the most approachable of the “High Booze” cocktails that we have on yupfeed. 
  • It’s creation was an accident. I misheard the pronunciation of Amaro Nonino in a cocktail instructional and gave the formula to a bartender, and the rest is history.
